ESSENTIAL: BOXY WHITE TOP

BOXY WHITE TOP

VILA SHORT TOP// GOOD NIGHT MACAROON DESTROYED JEANS// ZARA SLIP ON'S// GESTUZ SHORTS// ADIDAS ORIGINALS// TOPSHOP WHITE JEANS// REEBOK CLASSIC'S

Call me 'normcore' or whatever that new trend is, but a white t shirt is a staple to most of my daily outfits. However, hold on to your seats because things are about to get a little more interesting in my basic/ boring wardrobe. I am upgrading my usual boring white T for a boxy white T (you can breathe now). Okay, so this may be such a boring choice for a blogpost because white t shirts are pretty easy to style, but these are just a few ways I will be styling it this coming spring/summer.

I've recently got my mits onto some hightop Reebok Classics and I am obsessed to say the least. I have made it my mission to keep them pristinely white which will probably not last long as I seem to attract mud even from standing still. Nonetheless, if anyone so happens to step on my Reeboks they will have another thing coming... (just kidding..BUT YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!)  I daringly pulled an all white outfit to match them. In my head I would be throwing a black duster coat to break the white up a bit (and to not look like an extra out of Blink 182's 'Say it Ain't so' video).

Also, if your Tuesday has been fairly average like myself, listen to Bonobo's- Antenna and just chill the f*** out. You deserve it.

DUST, SLIDE AND GETTING SENTIMENTAL

ASOS WHITE DUSTER COAT// ASOS OVERSIZED T SHIRT// ZARA (DIY RIPPED) JEANS// H&M SLIDERS// FASHIONOLOGY NECKLACE & RINGS// VINTAGE BAG// EBAY CAT EYE SUNGLASSES

Look at me with the vague titles to outfit posts, it's very annoying and I will stop, but it just seemed appropriate for this occasion.

I was closely anticipating the arrival of my duster coat from ASOS. When it arrived, I tried it on and wouldn't take it off until I looked at it from every angle in the mirror. As I was explaining in previous posts, I was slightly worried it would look too clinical.

"but does it look TOO much like a doctors coat?"

I asked my Mum, which obviously was a mistake as she said "YES" and I was slightly disheartened. So I asked my sister for a second opinion and she also said yes. As I slowly made my way over to putting it back into the return bag, I stopped and thought I cannot make this decision on the whim of just opening it (as the coat itself is so beautiful).

Luckily, I wore it today and cannot comprehend why I ever dissed it. I mean, how could I ever call this coat an ugly word like 'CLINICAL'!? I eat my words completely.

Anyway, the point of this long (boring) drawn out story is that I tend to do this with a lot of things. I will stare at a piece of clothing or try it on so many times, that it becomes hideous (when I previously thought it was the best thing since sliced bread). I do this when I am drawing too. I will draw something I am really proud of but then I will pick holes at what I don't like so much about it and then end up ruining it by trying to cover up things that weren't even wrong in the first place.

I feel the more I seem to write the more it becomes obvious that I do this with relationships in my life too (but this is just TMI)..

I think walking away and thinking over things you are not so sure on helps in any situation (not just a small decision like whether you like a coat or not). The best decisions I have ever made are the ones I haven't made on a whim. Decision's where you say "yes" too quickly (like adding loads of clothes to your online shopping basket because it won't be in the sale forever) can leave you feeling a bit out of control (as I have experienced these last few months).

So time to put my words in to practise...

Final note: Duster coats + Sliders + SOHN's new album 'Tremors' = Summer combination heaven

RUT

Feeling very uninspired so I sought to Tumblr for some baggy style inspiration. The best.

EASTER

MANGO COAT// PRIMARK JEANS// ZARA SANDALS// REPUBLIC BAG

Waking up this morning after drinking way too much last night was a bit of an eye sore for whoever had the displeasure of laying their eyes on me. I looked rough to say the least (hence why I have no photos of my face up..). Even though I was feeling trag', as it is Easter, I felt I had to make some effort. I thought why not draw some inspiration from my favourite Easter chocolates; mini eggs- to be all festive and what not. Admittedly I only realised the correlation after putting the outfit together and then eating some lots of mini eggs. Theres nothing like breaking away from the usual grey/ black/ white colour palette and adding a splash of colour to your outfit to bring you out of the dark hole of a hangover.

Another god send on days like this is my Dr Jart Water Fuse BB Cream. I use to be obsessed with this stuff and force my friends to buy it so I could feel like a fairy godmother who has blessed them with a precious gift. That was a little OTT description of it, but it is really good stuff. Its super hydrating to your skin, evens out discolouration well and makes you look lovely and dewy without making you look sweaty.

Hope you had a great Easter!

DUSTER COATS

DUSTER COATS

ALEXANDER WANG CROPTOP// ASOS DUSTER COAT// MONKI TROUSERS// ZARA SANDALS// ACNE STUDIOS BAG

So I have recently splurged on this gorgeous white duster coat from Asos. I know you maybe thinking it looks rather like a lab coat, but I have fallen in love with it nonetheless. Duster coats are my favourite fashion item right now. At 5ft 3 you would think I would stay away from huge items of clothing, but I do quite the opposite. I love big, baggy clothing. However, this coat thankfully comes in their Petite range, so for once in my life, I have bought an item that won't drag on the floor behind me like a wedding gown.

NIGHT

H&M COAT// MISS SELFRIDGE CROP TOP// H&M TROUSERS (OLD)// NEW LOOK SHOES// MAC "LADY DANGER" LIPSTICK

I never seem to do a 'night out' outfit post so I thought I would snap a few (low quality, sorry) shots before I went out last night.

I bought this Miss Selfridge crop top whilst out in Cambridge the other day. The square cut of this crop top is really popular at the moment. Its so feminine and classic as well as it doing wonders for narrowing your shoulders! It was only £8 and they come in many different colours and prints so get your self down to Miss Selfridge because the shop assistent told me that they are really popular at the moment.

I wanted to get some close up of these platform shoes, but the lighting wasn't doing them any justice, so it will have to wait for another outfit post. I really wanted some simple heels that wouldn't break my bank but also didn't have that tacky feel to them. These heels are perfect at just £29.99 (not including student discount!)

STRIPE AND RED LIP DAY

ME: MANGO COAT// PRIMARK TOP// AMERICAN APPAREL RIDING PANTS// RAYBAN SUNGLASSES// DR MARTEN BOOTS// H&M BEANIE// VINTAGE BAG
RHIANNON: ZARA COAT// H&M HAT// RIVER ISLAND TOP// DR DENIM JEANS// ZARA POOL SLIDERS// RAYBAN SUNGLASSES

When I have to get up early, time is not on my side and I don't have a clue what to wear, I always venture towards a stripe, camel coat and red lip day. This a classic look which I don't think anyone can go wrong with. The amount of stripey tops I own because of this reason is beyond re-dic.

So yesterday was one of those days for me. My sister Rhiannon, Mum and I took a trip to Cambridge which was so nice. Highlights included: Going to Aromi Italian Deli where we were served by the friendliest Italian guy (great service makes the food taste even better); awesome street performers such as Will Roberts (check out music here) and Idrum and blood orange Sanpellegrino. I think Cambridge has to be in my top three cities.

E-Z WEAR

VINTAGE LEVI'S JACKET// H&M ROLL NECK JUMPER// H&M TROUSERS// BIRKENSTOCKS// RAYBAN SUNGLASSES// H&M BAG

After wearing these tracksuit trousers from H&M, I am now thinking 'oh hell with it' and getting rid of any other trousers that are skin tight or give me serious grief. These are THE most comfy trousers ever. I can sit crossed legged without my trousers resisting and its a bloody luxury I tell you that. I have not had the greatest pleasure with well fitting trousers; be they absolutely huge or so skin tight they turn my legs blue. Through spending a day in these trousers, it has made me realise a number one rule to buying trousers: If your legs feel as if they are being restricted by two tubigrips,  they most probably do not look as good as the person that inspired you to buy them. I will keep that in mind and stick to the comfort.
