#SSS// LIBBY

I can't believe I'm writing my second post for 'Street Style Scrapbook Sunday'. Where has the week gone!? Anyway, moving on from a cliche way to start a blogpost. The outfit that has grabbed my attention this week comes from my beautiful friend Libby. I caught her on the way to a job interview so she looks all smart and sophist' (which is a regular day-to-day outfit for Lib's). I think since meeting Libby at uni this year, she has non-intentionally swayed me to step outside my grey/ black/ white clothing comfort zone. OH, and patterns. She does colours and patterns oh so very well.

Name: Libby Faulkner

Occupation: Broadcast Journalist student at The University of Leeds// Sales assistant at Coast

Outfit break down: Boots- Topshop// Coat- River Island // Dress- Zara// Blouse- H&M// Tights- Asos// Bag- Zara

What are your favourite shops to shop in?
A favourite shop to shop in would probably be American Apparel as I spend way to much money there. However, it is very expensive. I would find it hard to narrow it down to one favourite shop of all time as I go into a lot of random shops to find different items. Like, I went into Internationale the other day and surprisingly found a lot of nice things!

Favourite fashion trend?
My favourite fashion trend at the moment is definitely co-ordinates, but I find it's difficult to find nice really ones on the highstreet. I bought a really nice one the other day from Urban Outfitters, but it shrunk in the wash unfortunately. It was devastating at the time as it was so expensive!

Who are your fashion inspirations?
Alexa Chung maybe. I think she wears simple things, but always looks good. I think if you have a nice coat, you can wear any standard outfit and it will make it look better. Actually, as long as you have one stand out piece of clothing -whether it be your shoes or a handbag- it can save a boring outfit. Oh, I also love Suki Waterhouse's style too.

Describe your style?
It changes. Today, it's a bit more sophisticated because I am going to a job interview, but sometimes I would just wear 'Mom' jeans and Dr Martens. It just depends whether I can be bothered to go to Uni or not. If I have a lot of time on my hands I will make the effort with my outfit. So, to sum up I would say sophisticated and sloppy.

ASOS SUNGLASSES PICKS

SUNS OUT

I could be rather hopeful when saying this, but I think we may just about see the sun sometime soon! Okay, so he may just come out for under a second before the clouds snatch him away for another month, but I still think that second of sun is an excuse to shop for sunglasses and where better to shop for sunglasses than Asos? Asos's sunglasses collection is so vast and always have some unique styles. I'm looking to update my 'safe' styles of sunglasses and opt for something a little more quirky and nothing says statement than these picks. Thanks Asos, you have outdone yourself.

ACNE STUDIOS 'AKOYA' CLUTCH

Acne

Acne Studios have only gone and done it again. Their new 'Akoya' clutch bag (what they describe as a tech accessory) is one of the most innovative designs for a bag I've ever seen.  Who else, other than Acne, would make a clutch bag interchangeable with a jewellery box? I love the box shape too. Now lower the price so I can get my hands on one of these.

BEST APP FOR FASHION LOVERS

Being a student, I find it hard to keep up with fashion trends due to my bank funds being continually low. I am faced with an ultimatum weekly; food or clothes? Clothes inevitably always seems to win (not that I don't love food, cause I do- thinks about food for a second-). I am forever trying to find deals online of my favourite clothing websites to satisfy my clothe cravings. It is not until 'Famest' contacted me about their new app, my problem was miraculously solved! Famest is a fashion app where you upload pictures of your outfits (which I do all too often) and gain points from the famest community which then turn into vouchers at your favourite online retail stores. Okay, so this may possibly be the best app for fashion lovers on a budget of all time.

If you are familiar with 'Lookbook' (which I am guessing you are), when you upload a photo, the Lookbook community can 'hype' your photo if they like your outfit. With Famest, these likes turn into points. The more points you gain, the more vouchers and discounts you can collect to spend on online retail stores such as Asos and Forever 21 (Errr yes please!!)

Just incase I haven't clarified how simple and easy it is to use Famest, heres a step by step guide on how to get involved in the fun:

1. You download your outfit on www.famest.com or with our free iPhone app (see AppStore)
2. You tag the clothes visible on it
3. You earn points if the Famest community likes your outfit
4. You swap your points for rewards such as visibility on our communication channels or discount vouchers for brands like Asos, Forever 21 or Singer 22.

Click this link to join and get 25 points free! (thats 25 points away from 20% off Asos or Singer 22!)

WHISTLES VS TOPSHOP

Whistles Vs Topshop
I am a big fan of finding good designer dupes on the highstreet (what girl isn't?). I have been awing at Whistles 'Margaux Crossover' shoe on Polyvore for a while now. They just look like a staple, sturdy shoe that would go with everything. Whilst they may look fantastic, the price of £225 throws a bit of a spanner in the works for me. Fear not, Topshop do an almost identical version for a breezy £58. Ah, where would I be without you Topshop?

WEEK IN INSTAGRAM POSTS

SHEINSIDE COAT// TOPSHOP TOP// H&M LEATHER TROUSERS// ZARA SHOES// H&M BEANIE

Just a quick update of what I have been up to this week as well an outfit post.

I have had a lovely busy week full of exciting events. In picture '1' features the beautiful drag queen 'Iva Bouquet' who allowed me to film her whilst she put on her make up. I interviewed her to find out about her life as a drag queen for a documentary I am making for my uni course. I got to see all of the drag outfits and wigs backstage in her dressing room. It was the best. Picture '2' is Libby and I interviewing the amazingly talented singer Dan Croll ( I linked his new single 'From Nowhere' below) on Friday. He is literally the nicest guy in showbiz and his new album 'Sweet Disarray' is the dogs bollocks to say the least (I have had it on repeat all weekend). My final photo is just me tryna' work some Missy Elliot style plaits in Leicester this weekend. I was shaking them like Monica from friends when she just got her new Caribbean braids. Braids are fun. I recommend them to all who want to bring 'fun' back into hairstyles.

#SSS// ANDRE

This is the first post of my 'Street Style Scrapbook Sundays' series, where in which I post a look which has inspired me most throughout the week.

This week, I spotted Andre who was looking dapper as he was walking around Leeds city centre. I liked his smart vs casual look, plus the fact that everything he wore was black (my favourite colour ever). Also, what girl isn't a sucker for a guy who can pull off a hat?

Name: Andre (Dremix Pro)

Occupation: Music Producer & CEO at Reflextion Records (part time sales assistant at French Connection)

Outfit break down: Floral Shirt- French Connection//  Jacket- All Saints// Trousers- Topman// Shoes- Topman

Favourite Shops: All Saints// Topman// French Connection// Ghetto Geek

Fashion Inspiration: Pharell Williams and Kanye West

As we got chatting, I found that Andre is not only a pretty fashionable guy, he has also has his own Record Label called 'Reflextion Records' as well as being a musician himself.

Can you tell me a bit about your label 'Reflextion Records'?
'Reflextion Records' is a a label signing up and coming artists. We have recently just signed a female called 'Rielle' who was formally part of the girl band 'Miss Dynamix' in last years X Factor. We have also signed a rapper called 'Two4Kay' as well as an artist called 'Lois Davina' who will be performing in Leeds on the 31st of March in HiFi, which everyone should get down too! Also, not to forget about 'WordzOvWisdom' & fellow producer 'BeatsByO' who are new to the roster. I am also currently working on my music too! (DremixPro)

ALEXANDER WANG, ZARA DUPE

1// ALEXANDER WANG £545// 2// ZARA £25.99

I have been searching for an affordable duplicate of Alexander Wang's much loved pleated crop top, but lets face it, most of us can't afford £545 (as lovely as it may be). Zara is a bit of a godsend when it come's to getting cheap quality clothes that that still have that designer appeal. Although many highstreet shops are attempting to duplicate this croptop, Zara have almost got it down to a 't'. It doesn't come through in the picture, but they are in fact almost identical in colour. The Zara top however, has a flattering scooped back (now regretting that I didn't take a picture of it!)

For only £25.99, what a steal!

(p.s. It is not available on the website as of yet, but you can get it in store in the 'TRF' section!)

NEW SANDALS

ZARA COAT// SHEINSIDE JUMPER// MONKI LEGGINGS// TRUFFLE SHOES// FASHIONOLOGY RINGS

I realise that a mirror 'selfie shot' isn't the most glam of all photos (especially one in my uni room which features a hideous green carpet) but, this was an impromptu outfit picture before being rushed off my feet yesterday. I just wanted to show you my new sandals I bought in Leeds yesterday for a bargain of £19.99! I got mine from a (some would say tacky) little store in Leeds, but you can also find them here.

H&M JUMPER DRESS// NEW BLOG SERIES

H&M JUMPER DRESS// H&M MOHAIR CARDIGAN// ZARA BOOTS// MICHAEL KORRS
WATCH

1. I am in love with this new jumper dress I found in h&m yesterday. Patterned clothing is something I normally stay away from (as you can tell from my consistent theme of 'vanilla' clothing). I suppose you could say that I am a safe dresser, however, I just think that you get more wear out of plain coloured clothing (actually, since checking my instagram posts, I realise that I wear a lot more patterned clothing than I thought). Nonetheless, my opinion took a bit of a U-Turn after finding this bad boy. I love the 90's style pattern of this sweater dress. It is perhaps verging on 'hipster' or possibly 'edgy girl leeds', but with simple coloured clothing (and normal coloured hair), I think I can get away with it.

2. I have some exciting news for my blog. After many months of inconsistent blog posting, I have finally decided to add a bit of structure. So, without further adieu, I bring you....

Doesn't it just roll off the tongue?...

My biggest fashion inspirations come from street style and since moving to a city, I am constantly awing over peoples day to day fashion choices. I decided that I should put my journalist skills to the test and grill all of y'all about how you are looking so frickin' fantastic. Every sunday I will posting a look that has inspired me that week through roaming (I realise how predatory that word sounds) the streets!

See you sunday!

SKETCHIN

Well howdy. It feels like I haven't been here for a while. Things have been a liiiittle busy up here in Leeds, and when things get busy, I get flustered. That is my excuse for not blogging for what feels like forever.

So although I complain about being rather busy, I have still found the time to do a little sketching. It has actually been a refreshing change to draw in my spare time rather than watch TV (I sound so cultured! Next I will be telling you I listened to classical music whilst sipping on red wine).

Fashion illustration has always been an all time love for me. I think its the way you don't have to finish the whole drawing, but it will still look complete (that, and I am a bit of a lazy drawer).

SUNSUNSUN

WHISTLES JACKET// CHEAP MONDAY TOP// MONKI NECKLACE// PRIMARK SUNGLASSES & TROUSERS// BIRKENSTOCK SHOES// FASHIONOLOGY RINGS

So, on the hottest day of the year so far, I wore black. ALL black err'thing. 18 degree heat may seem like a breezy spring day for some, but when you have been used to freezing, rainy temperatures for a good 5 months, I think it is quite obvious to say that it got pretty hot in that leather jacket. So, as the sun was shining whilst I was in Norwich today, I saw it as a cheap excuse to take some cliche pictures.

P.S, spot my not so elusive photographer boyfriend's shadow.

LENNON

SHEINSIDE COAT// WHISTLES JUMPER// RAYBAN SUNGLASSES// ASOS CORD RIPPED TROUSERS// ZARA SHOES// FASHIONOLOGY RINGS// WHITE BARRY M NAIL POLISH// DELILAH DUST NECKLACE

I was told by my mum today that I was rockin "medieval shoes" and "lennon glasses", which doesn't sound like a match made in heaven, but I took it as a compliment nonetheless. I always get my mums opinion on clothing. I don't think I could buy something unless she hasn't given her nod of approval. Actually, saying that, she is not a fan of 'mom' jeans, whereas I cannot get enough. Anything 80's clothingwise, ain't for Joolz.

I have been wearing my mint Sheinside coat a lot these last past weeks, to the point where a button has fallen off (due to how cheap I bought the coat for, this doesn't bother me). I have tried wearing coloured clothing with it, however I have come to realise I actually feel so uncomfortable wearing more than two bright colours! (is this just me?).

I have been a bit Instagram happy this week. ALSO, I have just heard the best news ever! It is going to reach up to 17 degrees this weekend. Just in time for the arrival of my Birkenstocks. (I am ignoring anyone who is telling the screen that this hot weather will never happen)

Just incase you are tempted....

FASHIONOLOGY MIDI RINGS

RIGHT HAND: MIDI RING- FASHIONOLOGY// TRIANGLE RING- MARKET STALL// BLACK RING- SPANGLES IN IPSWICH
LEFT HAND: BOTH FASHIONOLOGY

Fashionology is no new thing amongst fashion bloggers; it seems to be everywhere. I have loved Fashionology's jewellery for a long time now for several reasons: 1. Every piece of jewellery is silver, and I do love silver jewellery 2. The rings come in many sizes, so they even fit my cocktail stick fingers (however my fingers do look rather chubby in the photos) 3. The simple bohemian cuts and designs.

I love midi rings, but I am beginning to get the message that the feeling is not mutual. Every time I own them, they tend to go missing fairly regularly. I have previously owned I midi ring from Fashionology, which went missing and then turned up and then went missing again...and well...never turned up *sad face* (I realise I am personifying the rings now, I'll stop). Anyway, I repurchased two new ones in the sale in the hope that if one goes missing, I have a back up. I am diggin' the chunkiness of the pair, I have to say.
